Ipah's mother sat outside the unit on a stool and watched the people pass on their way to the markets. They knew many of the people who passed. It was a very friendly place to live in. Without the 'modern' toys that people in countries like Hong Kong and Australia have, most of the people here spend their free time sitting outside their homes and chatting, probably something that people in the 'modern' societies could use more of. The front door was almost never closed during the day, despite the high number of people passing by.
